Jenny and Pete - A Marriage Made in Heaven
About Pete - By Jennifer
It is no small thing to capture the magnificence of the man I now love calling my husband.
Meeting Pete Cavanagh came at a time when I least expected it. Having spent the best part of 10 years on my own, sorting myself out essentially, I reached a point where I knew I wasn’t prepared to compromise . . . anything. If I couldn’t live in a way that was true for me, then I preferred to stay on my own.
So, from our first meeting I was as open and honest as I could be about everything I had made my life about to that point, leaving it for Pete then to discern for himself whether it was for him.
What has unfolded since that day is testimony to the many things about him that are worthy of mention. One of my first impressions and something that grows every day is that time with Pete is never superficial. He is genuine to boot with a deeply considered wisdom, clarity and ability to cut through crap (pardon the phrase) – something l value about him being in my life constantly. It’s like having someone who knows when to tweak the rudder, ensuring you are always on track. In saying that he is at the same time one of the most unimposing men l’ve ever encountered. In his own very solid and steady connection and relationship with himself, he has never asked me to be anything but myself, nor to do anything differently, let alone adjust myself to suit his needs. If I am not myself or I lose my rhythm in life, he is onto it, even faster than I am at times.
So as a man who was willing to say yes to all of what was possible and turns up every single day without an ounce of resistance to what’s next, he explores the dimensions of life with a practicality and realness that ensures there’s never a dull moment.
About Jennifer - By Pete
When Jennifer Ellis came into my life in January 2016, from our first walk together my life changed forever. In the simplest terms, Jennifer brings a great deal with her on many levels – in wisdom, truth, healing, dedication and definitely in Love – and all in abundance. All that, in a package of sweetness, beauty, sensitivity, delicateness and brilliant humour.
You simply cannot meet and engage with someone of her qualities and capacities and not feel it, not be changed by doing so. And so was I changed.
Saying ‘yes’ to Jennifer wasn't a no-brainer, as every cell in my body including those of my brain were and are completely on board with having done so. And now as I write this, some 18 months after we met and five months into our marriage.
The greatest confirmation of this is that Jenny, in her amazing capacities, spotted and fished me out of the seeming randomness of internet dating, saw fit to take that first walk with me . . . the start of our amazing story . . . and, with only a little hesitation, so beautifully took that leap and said ‘yes’ to me too.
But there's so much more to Love than saying ‘yes’: Love is to be lived and expressed, in action as much as in word; expansive and more with every passing day.
This is what I've come to feel and understand first hand, as I am loved by Jenny. There's no mistaking it; it is beautiful to receive and return such Love.
I've learnt since meeting Jennifer to never underestimate the truth in a feeling. In this instance, the feeling undoubtedly is that ours is a marriage made in Heaven.
